Job Title: Associate Clinical Director

Verisk Life, Health & Travel (LHT) is a leading provider of risk rating tools to the insurance market, with over 20 years of experience. We offer medical and veterinary underwriting software to insurance providers, enabling informed underwriting decisions on travel, health, pet, and other health-related insurance products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Medical Director (UK) in governance, delivery, and management of medical datasets for all LHT products globally.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for sales, marketing, and client servicing functions.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the LHT business globally, working closely with the Global Managing Director, Medical Director, Commercial Director, Operations Director UK, APAC MD, and Global Business Development Team members.
  • Collaborate with internal medical experts and external experts to provide specific expertise related to medical risk and insurance markets.
  • Develop and maintain risk models using relevant medical data and market data.
  • Identify changes required in medical datasets to reflect new disease identification, medical advancements, research outcomes, regulatory requirements, client feedback, and claims data analytics.
  • Work with the Product and Client Services teams to implement changes to the Risk Rating Tool.
  • Support the development of new Risk Rating Tool products or features.
  • Support the Risk Rating Support Line team to handle client queries requiring in-depth medical knowledge.
  • Direct liaison with clients to provide accurate risk assessment outcomes and respond to queries.
  • Maintain awareness of key medical advancements and treatments to ensure the Tool remains relevant and current.
  • Assess potential regulatory and legislative changes relevant to Verisk's business and their impact on the product and risk rating outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Medical qualification with a minimum 4 years post-qualification experience in an acute care setting.
  • Well-rounded and up-to-date general knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical conditions.
  • Current registration with the GMC equivalent medical body (desirable).
  • Experience in a commercial life and/or health insurance setting is preferred.
  • Relationship building and ability to translate complex medical issues into plain English.
  • IT skills - MS Office (essential) & databases (desirable).
