Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Meridian Business Support. As a key member of our Finance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Financial Controller in managing the balance sheet reconciliation and review process, escalating any non-compliance or issues identified.
  • Communicate and action changes to the Delegated Authority Limits.
  • Assist in managing the external audit alongside the Financial Controller, including Interim, Hardclose, Year-End, and Statutory Accounts visits.
  • Deliver the month-end financial results in accordance with prescribed deadlines.
  • Take responsibility for own accounting areas and report the results in the Magnitude group reporting package.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting treatment and reporting rules.
  • Prepare the annual Statutory Accounts in accordance with prescribed accounting standards and deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Corporation Tax return, quarterly VAT returns, and ad hoc tax queries.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Financial Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or part-qualified accountant with a strong technical accounting background.
  • Excellent communication and technical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.
