We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Therapist to join our Paediatric Psychology Department at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a Family Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist systemic family therapy assessments and treatment plans for children and adolescents with complex and persistent physical and mental health problems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist systemic family therapy assessments for children and adolescents with complex and persistent physical and mental health problems.
- Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the formulation and implementation of treatment plans, taking into account relevant evidence-based research, theory, practice, and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes.
- Provide specialist systemic therapeutic treatment for children, adolescents, their parents/carers, and families, including group and reflecting team interventions, as well as face-to-face and virtual appointments.
- Provide specialist systemic advice, guidance, and consultation to professional colleagues within Sheffield Children's Hospital and related external agencies.
- Contribute to the development of treatment plans and provide advice on aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust is one of three independent, specialist paediatric hospitals in the country, providing dedicated healthcare for children and young people across community, mental health, and acute specialist settings. Person Specification- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant mental health/social welfare profession and demonstrable practice.
- Masters/Doctoral level qualification in Family Systemic Psychotherapy or equivalent.
- Registration as a systemic family therapist with the UKCP.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, including children and young people, and family groups, across the full range of severity and care settings.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator and within the context of a multi-disciplinary care team.
