We are on the lookout for a skilled Bookkeeping Specialist to become part of their dynamic team. Competitive Salary: The firm offers an attractive salary package ranging from £27,000 to £35,000, along with study support for those interested in pursuing their AAT or ICB qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Bookkeeping: Ensure precise and current financial records for a varied client portfolio. Manage daily financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Accounts Preparation: Assist in the preparation of accounts up to trial balance, ensuring all financial data is accurate and adheres to relevant accounting standards.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of clients' bank accounts and financial statements.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines.
  • Payroll Support: Aid in processing payroll for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
  • Management Reports: Generate management reports and financial statements as needed, providing valuable insights for clients' business operations.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel to efficiently maintain and manage clients' financial records.
  • Client Interaction: Effectively communicate with clients to address queries, provide updates, and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Team Collaboration: Work within a friendly and collaborative team of bookkeepers, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice.
  • Qualifications: Part-qualified or qualified by experience. Study support is available for AAT or ICB qualifications.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a team, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
  • Proactive: A proactive approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
