The National Literacy Trust is seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to join their senior management team as the Director of Development and Partnerships. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the fundraising and development strategy into an exciting new phase.
About the Trust:
The National Literacy Trust empowers children, young people, and adults from disadvantaged communities with the literacy skills they need to succeed. We work directly with young people and their families, with schools, nurseries, prisons, and through our teams leading community literacy programs in various locations across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy to drive growth and success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, trusts, foundations, and national bodies to secure funding and support.
- Manage and motivate a team of talented fundraisers to achieve exceptional results.
- Develop and implement effective financial planning and reporting systems to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Contribute to the development of a strong and inclusive organizational culture, aligned with the Trust's ED&I commitments.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of success in fundraising and development leadership roles.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong understanding of financial planning and reporting, with experience of managing budgets and resources.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a senior management team, with a focus on achieving shared goals and objectives.
