As a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to a student with special educational needs. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals, you will be instrumental in creating and implementing a personalized learning plan that addresses the unique requirements of the student.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to understand the student's specific needs and develop strategies to support their learning.
  • Implement and adapt educational plans to meet the student's individual learning requirements, ensuring their progress and well-being.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to the student during classroom activities and lessons, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the student, promoting their engagement and well-being.
  • Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies tailored to the student's needs, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with parents and other professionals to ensure a holistic support system, promoting the student's overall well-being.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially in providing 1:1 support to students with SEN, is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting individual student success.
  • Initiative and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching team, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
