Position Summary: We are seeking an Energy Underwriting Assistant to support our underwriting team, focusing on upstream and midstream energy sectors while also contributing to the development of innovative green solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing a portfolio of primarily upstream and midstream energy insurance.
  • Support the growth and sourcing of new business opportunities related to green solutions.
  • Analyze and ensure the accuracy of all (re)insurance data and records to protect client interests.
  • Engage in the underwriting process, including participation in daily calls, evaluating submissions, and interpreting exposures.
  • Determine appropriate coverage and contract language while prioritizing preparations.
  • Collaborate with risk modeling and pricing tools to enhance underwriting accuracy.
  • Stay informed on market trends and developments in the Energy and Green solutions sectors.
  • Maintain the integrity of underwriting data within group systems and adhere to established procedures.
  • Report any factors that may adversely affect the firm's reputation or financial standing.
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of quotes, binders, and policies in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree or equivalent qualification in insurance.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, either in broking or underwriting roles.
  • Familiarity with actuarial modeling techniques and AIR pricing tools.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate financial data effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with spreadsheets and database processing.
  • A collaborative team player who can adapt to business needs, including potential extended hours and travel.
