Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP Fosse Way. As a key member of our Offender Health Directorate, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of substance misuse services and providing care to patients with complex substance misuse problems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of substance misuse services, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for individuals with substance misuse problems.
  • Provide leadership to junior staff and guide them in the provision of clinical and psychosocial interventions.
  • Coordinate and lead the team in the provision of clinical and psychosocial interventions, including substance misuse care services for prisoners.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team, including advice, guidance, and leadership in respect of mental health and concurrent substance misuse.

Requirements

  • Registered nurse, RGN or RNMH, with significant experience within the substance misuse field.
  • Experience of working with clients on a 1:1 basis, planning and leading a ward/unit, and engaging and developing rapport with the client group.
  • Understanding of current substance misuse-related issues, equal opportunities issues within healthcare, and the ability to participate in multi-professional teamwork.
  • Teaching, influencing, negotiation, and supervision skills, with a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
