Adult Social Care Lawyer Role

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be assisting Barnsley Council in their search for an Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their growing legal team.

About the Role:

The Adult Social Care Lawyer will be responsible for providing legal advice and support across a broad range of areas, including ordinary residence, Data Protection and Freedom of Information, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, and 16-17-year-old Deprivation of liberty cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing detailed, accurate advice on the Council's responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, Mental Health Act 1983, and associated Regulations and Statutory Guidance.
  • Making applications to the Court of Protection and High Court.
  • Advising Service Managers and Directors on Adult Social Care policy and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
