Electrical Night Shift Engineer

Join Cpl Life Sciences in our Data Centre Engineering Operations (DCEO) Team in the Greater London Area.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Night Shift Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of our data centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment are maintained and operate at optimal levels.
  • Assist in the design and build of new data halls and data centres.
  • Manage sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with safety practices.
  • Review vendor RAMS and MOPs to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency in the data centre.
  • Project manage operational aspects of the data centre.
  • Manage asset and inventory.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of work experience in a critical operations environment.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Good understanding of data centre critical infrastructure.
  • 6+ years of Data Centre Engineering/Operations Experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
