PQ Engineer Job Description

This role is part of the Perceived Quality (PQ) function and will provide support to the Lead Engineer. The primary focus will be on Interior Trim Perceived Quality, covering projects in the design stages of the program.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Lead Engineer in PQ activities
  • Develop and implement PQ techniques and processes for Interior Trims
  • Support the PQ Lead in mentorship of engineering teams in understanding and applying designs and engineering execution which achieves PQ targets
  • Assist with the Benchmarking of competitor vehicles and reporting findings
  • Support Optical Quality and Perceived Quality development and assessment activities
Requirements
  • CAD operation skills essential, with ability to create and manipulate geometry for primary communication of Gap & Rad Planning PQ Requirements
  • Catia V5 operative skills, with focus on 2D data and sectional data
  • TCUA (Team Centre) PLM utilisation is desirable

This role will work closely with the PQ Team overseas, supporting the development and implementation of PQ standards, processes, and guidelines. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of PQ principles and be able to apply them in a fast-paced engineering environment.

The PQ Engineer will be responsible for supporting the PQ Lead in performing digital reviews and sign-off events for PQ related activities on Interior systems. They will also assist in the development of Product Attribute Targets based upon the Product Attribute PALS positioning for PQ.
