We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Commercial Director to join our team at Virgin Atlantic. As a key member of our procurement and commercial function, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and delivering commercial gain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Spend Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of category spend and volume information to support strategic and operational procurement.
  • Procurement Planning: Develop and implement core procurement plans and processes to deliver business objectives and commercial gain.
  • Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, and implement robust commercial contracts with suppliers.
  • Procurement Awareness: Raise awareness of Procurement's role and capabilities, educating business owners on the opportunities and benefits of a strategic focus on purchasing activity.
  • Supplier Performance Management: Advise business partners on how to actively manage suppliers against core metrics to drive improvements and efficiencies.

Requirements:

  • High level of procurement purchasing experience in a Legal, Supply Chain, or Business Management area.
  • Confident in researching, assimilating, and processing data from a range of sources.
  • Proven commercial contract management experience, ideally gained during contract, commercial, or procurement background with experience in management of large enterprise contracts.
  • Sound knowledge of contract law and negotiating sophisticated commercial deals with large supplier organisations.
  • Experienced with web-enabled procurement tools.
  • Knowledge of procurement within the aerospace industry is ideal.
