About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead and support improvement in stroke services across the East of England. The successful candidate will have a strong background in programme management and transformation, with experience of delivering large-scale projects across organisational and geographic boundaries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support improvement in stroke services across the East of England, working collaboratively with regional CVDR Clinical Network leads, SQuIRe lead and ISDN clinical leads.
  • Engage and communicate with a wide variety of key stakeholders to promote sustainable and equitable stroke services of the highest quality possible.
  • Act as a conduit for information and initiatives between national, regional and local systems.
  • Ensure full engagement with the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP), monitoring network performance and recommending support.
  • Act as a champion for stroke patients, carers and their interests.
  • Support effective stroke care pathways across the ISDNs, assisting with clinical collaboration and coordination between all stakeholders, including the third sector.
  • Support the ICSs to develop a strategic approach to improving local stroke pathways.
  • Manage effective cross-boundary and border patient flows with neighbouring ISDNs.
  • Support the delivery of the optimal configuration of stroke services within a given geography.

Requirements
  • Master's level education or equivalent level of experience working at a senior level in a specialist area.
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge and worked experience of stroke care services, at either senior clinical, operational or commissioning level.
  • Demonstrable ability to make decisions autonomously, when required, on difficult and contentious issues, working to tight and often changing timescales.
  • Experience of receiving highly complex, sensitive or contentious information, negotiating with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues.
  • Experience of presenting complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and delivering complex quality improvement projects across healthcare services.
  • Experience of identifying and interpreting national policy.
  • Project management experience/QSIR training and/or qualification.
