About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communications and Engagement Lead to join our team and drive the delivery of the IUCN UK Peatland Programme's communications activity.

The successful candidate will be employed by The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts and will be pivotal in championing peatland values, promoting peatland restoration in the UK, and advocating the multiple benefits of peatlands through partnerships, strong science, sound policy, and effective practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the production of communications materials through design and appropriate messaging
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with external contacts and partners
  • Identify opportunities and build the Programme's reach through networking and partnerships
  • Plan and deliver events such as online workshops and the annual conference
  • Support the wider Peatland Programme team in networking, identifying opportunities for collaboration, and producing resources such as briefings and web content
Requirements
  • Experience of designing publications, creating digital content, newsletters, and managing social media accounts
  • Excellent team player and networker with the ability to quickly develop good relationships with partner organisations
  • Passion for communicating peatlands to a wide audience and a creative and proactive approach
