Senior Controls and Commissioning Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls and Commissioning Engineer to lead our efforts in commissioning and optimizing battery and powertrain systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our systems meet rigorous functional and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commissioning activities for battery and powertrain systems, ensuring compliance with functional and safety standards.
  • Develop and document commissioning processes to initialize prototype systems for performance and durability testing.
  • Optimize commissioning processes through the implementation of software scripts and automated tests.
  • Collaborate with software and controls engineers to ensure system readiness for testing and calibration activities.
  • Design user-friendly front-end interfaces for test and validation engineers to monitor critical signals and data.
  • Apply expertise in hardware and software systems to support the development of fault detection and recovery strategies.
  • Define testing procedures for electrical and software functions, gathering input from team members as needed.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver software and hardware features on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in controls engineering, commissioning, or related roles within the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in commissioning processes, including familiarity with battery and powertrain systems.
  • Strong programming skills, with experience in software scripting and automated testing.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software systems, with the ability to develop fault detection and recovery strategies.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
