About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at SheCanCode. As the external-facing leader for our company, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and nurturing our relationships with internal audiences, Corporate Ambassadors, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

Engagement, Outreach, and Partnerships:

  • Develop and implement strategies to facilitate discussions and engagement activities within our community.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, community leaders, and other organizations to promote our mission and values.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas for community growth and engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute retention programs that drive engagement and satisfaction.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support community outreach efforts and events.

Corporate Ambassador Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Corporate Ambassadors, ensuring they are happy and engaged throughout their contract period.
  • Develop and execute strategies to ensure high satisfaction rates among Corporate Ambassadors, aiming for contract renewals.
  • Gather feedback from Corporate Ambassadors to continually improve their experience and the value they receive from SheCanCode.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that Corporate Ambassadors are onboarded, featured, and highlighted within the community.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for promoting women in tech, diversity, and inclusivity in the tech industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness, and professionalism.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in public relations, communications, English, journalism, or related field.
  • Familiarity with community platforms like Hivebrite is a plus.
  • Someone with experience in community management, partner success, or related fields would be a bonus, but not necessary.
