We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, low-intensity mental health services to patients in primary care settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment and referral advice to patients, informed by knowledge of service provision and presenting risk factors.
- Offer low-intensity interventions, including psychoeducational courses, computerized CBT, and one-to-one guided self-help.
- Maintain professional registration and adhere to relevant professional guidelines and policies.
- Develop and maintain local knowledge of services and facilities, particularly in relation to mental health issues.
- Lead the development, planning, and promotion of courses and workshops, and provide training to staff members.
- Manage an aspect of the service, including line management of staff and coordination of clinical activity.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, and professionals, and develop robust professional relationships with external agencies.
- Professional registration and relevant qualifications in mental health.
- Experience in providing low-intensity mental health services in primary care settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours and participate in the service's duty system.
The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and supportive team environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth. The role will involve frequent exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances, requiring emotional engagement and self-regulation.
