Role Overview

EdEx - Education Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in East London. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and providing exceptional training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with specialist teachers, therapists, and psychologists to provide individualized support to students with various needs, including Speech and Language, Communication, Social, Autism (Verbal and Non-Verbal) needs, and more.
  • Receive comprehensive training and support from day one, with opportunities to work across Key Stage 3 - Key Stage 5.
  • Support students in small groups and one-to-one settings, both inside and outside the classroom.

Requirements

  • A graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 degree from a reputable university.
  • Good A-Levels and GCSEs, including English at GCSE.
  • Previous experience supporting children, young people, or adolescents, such as tutoring, nannying, babysitting, volunteering, or personal experience.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with barriers to learning.
  • An inquisitive, warm, and nurturing personality.

Role Details

  • Teaching Assistant - Supporting various needs and SP&L.

  • £105 - £110 per day - paid weekly (Term Time Only).
  • Long term contract - at least for an academic year - scope for a permanent contract if interested.
