We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at Peerless Talent. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance in our audit and assurance services.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of our quality management system
- Manage and oversee compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Provide technical guidance and support to staff on audit and assurance matters
- Perform engagement quality reviews and evaluations
- Act as a mentor and coach to staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development
- Manage audit and review engagements for private businesses and not-for-profit organizations
- Supervise and train staff members
- Other responsibilities and projects as required
Breakdown of Responsibilities
- Overseeing Quality/Audit and Assurance (40%)
- Working directly on audit or tax files (30%)
- Managing/mentoring staff doing audit or tax work (20%)
- Overseeing/mentoring CPA students (10%)
Requirements
- CPA designation
- A minimum of 5 years' experience (post-designation) in public accounting with a focus on audit and assurance
- Strong technical knowledge and experience of the Canadian Auditing Standards, Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises, and Canadian Accounting Standards for Not-For-Profit Organizations
- Ability to evaluate policies, procedures, and resources and recommend changes and improvements
- Proactive approach to managing changes to accounting and assurance standards and communicating changes to staff
- Leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance
- Ability to provide written and verbal training in an informal and formal setting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management, including the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- A high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills (both written and oral)
- Team-oriented and client-focused thinking
- Honesty, integrity, punctuality, and ethical behavior
