Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer / Architect to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As an Electrical Systems Engineer / Architect, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for missile and launcher systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specify and determine system electrical requirements, including interface definitions and characteristics between subsystems/equipment.
  • Develop power architecture, including power budget and power profiles.
  • Design data communication and processing architecture requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening.
  • Ensure signal safety, including routing of safety-related signals.
  • Support test and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification, and integration.
  • Review and author reports, guidelines, and processes.
  • Conduct design assessments and analysis.
  • Work to defence/industry standards.
  • Attend and support design reviews.
Additional Responsibilities (Equipment Manager)
  • Project manage equipment on behalf of the project during development, qualification, and manufacture.
  • Own requirements on behalf of the project for the equipment.
  • Produce Statements of Work for the associated design authority for the equipment.
  • Create and update plans showing activities for the equipment.
  • Manage internal and external design authorities for delivery of the equipment hardware, software, and deliverables to schedule, cost, quality, and performance.
  • Hold regular progress reviews with the design authority for the equipment.
  • Review qualification verification evidence.
  • Track and find resolution to equipment non-compliances.
  • Attend and support design reviews.
Requirements
  • Technical experience required in electrical/electronics interface definitions.
  • Knowledge of defence/industry standards.
  • Degree-level qualification in a related subject.
  • Systems engineering and writing reports.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience within a defence-related background.
  • Experience within other engineering industries.
  • Knowledge of defence weapon systems.
  • Power supplies.
  • Actuators.
  • Data communication.
  • Sensors.
  • EMC.
