Oceanside Logistics Ltd is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Transport Planner. This position is part of our rapidly expanding Southampton operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a proactive attitude, with the ability to take initiative and make timely decisions.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Accurate data input and maintenance of our TOPS Transport system
- Providing exceptional customer service through effective communication
- Collaborating with the traffic team to optimize routing for our company fleet and subcontractors
- Developing cost-effective transport solutions that meet budget requirements
- Coordinating with drivers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure seamless job execution and customer satisfaction
- Timely updates on job status and late deliveries to customers
- Booking VBS slots for vehicles to collect containers
The successful candidate will be able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience with the TOPS operating system, DP World VBS system, and knowledge of shipping containers, driver hours, and transportation would be highly beneficial.
A strong understanding of UK geography would be advantageous.
This role will involve close collaboration with the traffic team and other departments to meet daily transport requirements.
Core office hours with occasional evening or weekend work may be required, with tasks shared among the team.
The Transport Planner will report directly to the Transport Manager.
Salary will be negotiable based on experience, with a competitive holiday entitlement and pension scheme available after the probationary period.
