About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Modeller to join our team at ABL Recruitment. As a Capital Modelling Actuary, you will play a key role in supporting the Managing Agency Head of Capital in running the capital model and providing support to the Board and senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Managing Agency Head of Capital in all aspects of running the capital model, including data collection, testing, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team, Underwriting, and Risk to ensure that the model is operating effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain the calibration tools and ensure that the data and parameters are up-to-date.
  • Contribute to solving problems arising from running and changing the model, and take a key role in testing the model.
  • Ensure that processes around the internal model are well-maintained and operate appropriately.
  • Maintain good version control of the model and ensure that all work is properly documented.
  • Test model output, including investigating and modifying model code.
  • Run and document the model for regulatory deliverables, such as LCR, IMO Return, and ORSA.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that all requirements are met.
Requirements
  • Actuarial skills at the level of an FIA qualified UK actuary.
  • Strong IT skills, with a good knowledge of WTW Igloo.
  • Coding skills in Excel VBA and R are desirable.
  • Knowledge of General Insurance and Motor classes, including insurance data management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Lloyd's and PRA requirements and Solvency II requirements.
  • Good written and face-to-face communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills.
