About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Capital Modelling Actuary to join our team at ABL Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and running the capital model to meet regulatory and internal stakeholder requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Managing Agency Head of Capital in all aspects of running the capital model, including data collection, testing, and calibration.
  • Maintain and run the calibration tools, update data and parameters in the internal model, and sense-check outputs.
  • Contribute to solving problems arising from running and changing the model, and take key responsibility in testing the model.
  • Ensure processes around the internal model are well-maintained and operate appropriately, and ensure good version control of the model.
  • Test model output, including investigating and modifying model code, and maintain good quality documentation.
  • Run and document the model for regulatory deliverables, such as LCR, IMO Return, and ORSA.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Underwriting, and Risk, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Keep clear records and trails of all work done to facilitate validation and review.
Requirements
  • Actuarial skills at the level of an FIA qualified UK actuary, with strong IT skills and a good knowledge of WTW Igloo.
  • Coding skills in Excel VBA and R are desirable, as well as knowledge of General Insurance and Motor classes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Lloyd's and PRA requirements, and Solvency II requirements.
  • Excellent written and face-to-face communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
