In this role, you will have the opportunity to craft procurement strategies, policies, and processes from the ground up. Your supply chain management acumen will be essential in fostering collaborative relationships and enhancing operational efficiency.
As a Procurement Lead, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Procurement Manager to develop and implement the procurement strategy. You will oversee the achievement of project procurement goals and requirements. Are you ready to assist the procurement and estimating team with tendering, market analysis, and supplier selection? If so, please review the responsibilities outlined below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide market intelligence, cost analysis, and supply chain performance feedback.
- Support a team of procurement professionals through training, development, performance evaluations, and recruitment to ensure an effective procurement service.
- Manage the procurement process for subcontractors, materials, equipment, and services in alignment with project procurement strategies.
- Deliver management information and reports as per project requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure best value for the project.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong negotiation abilities.
- Knowledge of legal and contracting principles.
- Experience in risk and opportunity management.
- Expertise in project procurement strategy.
Supply Chain Planning:
- Proven experience in the construction industry or a related field, with a clear understanding of the relevant interfaces and relationships.
- Ability to manage and structure operational procurement resources effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven track record in delivering effective procurement strategies.
- A methodical approach to decision-making, ensuring best value procurement.
- Demonstrated ability to add value through procurement activities.
Experience with CIPS or working towards CIPS is preferred, as is chartership in a related discipline (CIOB or RICS). We also value relevant on-the-job experience.
