We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Underwriting Leader to join our Chief Underwriting Office. As a Senior Financial Lines Technical Underwriter, you will provide technical leadership on underwriting issues, develop underwriting guidance, and define risk acceptance rules.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical underwriting expertise to support the development of underwriting guidance and risk acceptance rules.
  • Working closely with the business and Group Reinsurance to negotiate Financial Lines treaty renewals.
  • Researching new and emerging issues to identify potential future threats and/or opportunities.
  • Developing underwriting and risk management solutions to mitigate the effects or grow our business.
  • Representing Aviva externally, engaging with stakeholders such as regulators, reinsurers, and market bodies.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong technical underwriting knowledge in one or more of the Financial Lines classes.
  • Ability to communicate complex subjects in a clear, concise, and simple way.
  • Experience of developing wordings.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Experience of Regional and London market portfolios is desirable.
