Opportunity Overview
As a Development Underwriter at The Travelers Companies, Inc., you will play a critical role in developing relationships and writing new business opportunities. You will be responsible for underwriting and assessing risk to maximize business growth, negotiating terms and conditions, and maintaining the quality of business, growth, and profit.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite and assess risk to maximize business growth and profitability
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients and brokers to ensure alignment with underwriting requirements
- Develop and leverage relationships with brokers and clients to drive new business opportunities
- Support the team in managing and underwriting renewal business to ensure continuity and growth
Requirements
- Degree education in a relevant field, such as business, finance, or risk management
- Proven experience in underwriting and risk management, with a strong understanding of the local insurance marketplace
- General knowledge of insurance products and services, with a focus on property casualty insurance
- ACII qualification or equivalent preferred
