Key Responsibilities:
The role is situated at our vibrant Community Hub, which is committed to providing accessible youth programs. The Centre Supervisor will take initiative in collaborating with staff, stakeholders, partners, and the local community to promote awareness of the Trust's initiatives, energize the hub, and ensure its ongoing viability. Responsibilities will encompass various aspects of facility management, safety compliance, project planning and execution, team leadership, financial oversight, and strategic planning.

Strong communication skills are essential, with an emphasis on friendly and approachable interactions. Flexibility in work hours is required, including evenings and occasional weekends, to fulfill the charity's objectives.

Purpose of the Role:
To ensure the effective and efficient management and growth of the Community Hub, including resource management, safety protocols, staff oversight, financial accountability, and revenue generation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. General Responsibilities:
    • Uphold the mission and objectives of Bankside Open Spaces Trust while fostering community involvement.
    • Cultivate a supportive environment for team members and promote their professional development.
    • Advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion among all staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  2. Operational Duties:
    • Manage reception duties, welcoming users and visitors.
    • Ensure building security by adhering to safety protocols and managing access.
    • Prepare spaces for events and meetings as needed.
    • Handle phone inquiries, messages, and bookings.
    • Provide accurate information to visitors in person, via phone, and email.
    • Conduct security and safety checks upon arrival and departure.
    • Coordinate maintenance requests with the appropriate authorities.
    • Supervise contractors and inspect their work.
    • Perform general maintenance tasks and assist users as needed.
    • Manage incoming mail and deliveries.
    • Ensure proper waste disposal and maintain clear emergency exits.
    • Address hazards and ensure areas are secured.
    • Complete administrative tasks as required.
    • Maintain cleanliness in designated areas post-events.
    • Organize furniture and ensure tidiness in common areas.
  3. Managerial Responsibilities:
    • Negotiate services and contracts with local authorities and service providers.
    • Oversee the booking system for the Community Hub.
    • Act as the primary key holder, ensuring security during opening and closing hours.
    • Maintain building systems, including alarms and heating.
    • Develop and manage a maintenance plan for the Community Hub.
  4. Health and Safety Oversight:
    • Develop and implement safety and security policies.
    • Ensure timely completion of all required inspections.
    • Maintain accurate health and safety records.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Provide guidance to staff and users regarding health and safety responsibilities.
  5. Staff Management:
    • Supervise Community Hub staff.
    • Manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
    • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
    • Oversee contractors and temporary staff as necessary.
    • Plan and manage activities within the hub.
  6. Financial Oversight:
    • Collaborate with leadership to establish the Community Hub budget.
    • Explore and develop income-generating opportunities.
    • Manage financial transactions and supplies procurement.
  7. Additional Responsibilities:
    • Promote the Community Hub through marketing and outreach efforts.
    • Assist in grant applications and project development.
    • Build relationships with local communities and organizations.
    • Implement systems for monitoring and evaluating hub usage.
    • Adhere to the Trust's policies in all duties.
    • Perform other related tasks as assigned by leadership.

Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:
