Department Description

This role sits within the Controls function, reporting to the Business Risk & Control Manager. As a Business Risk Specialist, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering First Line of Defence capability within the bank.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the risk manager in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks and controls across the bank.
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with risk and control owners to identify, assess, monitor, measure, and report on key risk indicators.
  • Conduct risk evaluations of third-party service providers and ensure due diligence is performed to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Support business areas with day-to-day risk and compliance questions regarding business processes.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and assist in the development and implementation of enhanced business processes and controls.

Requirements

  • Strong risk management knowledge and experience, including RCSAs, controls, and risk libraries.
  • Knowledge of relevant non-financial risk regulatory requirements, such as Operational Resilience and Outsourcing.
  • Hands-on experience in assurance and monitoring of risks and controls across non-financial risk disciplines.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills, with experience in communicating across different levels of seniority.
  • Ability to provide constructive challenge and support the development of a risk-focused culture within the bank.
