Position Overview

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Associate seeking a new opportunity? Join Sirona care & health, where your contributions will significantly impact the well-being of the community.

In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Administrative staff, working on a flexible schedule between 8am and 8pm across a 7-day period.

Strong communication and clinical skills are essential, along with experience in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency in electronic patient record systems is required, as well as effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.

We welcome both full-time and part-time candidates, and those with an Assistant Practitioner qualification are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting initial holistic assessments and implementing care plans for patients with acute and chronic conditions.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the health needs of service users, assessing their overall condition and well-being.
  • Utilizing clinical reasoning skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient-centered care interventions.
  • Collaborating with service users, their families, and caregivers to establish realistic and achievable health goals.
  • Facilitating appropriate referrals to additional services as needed.
  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team to enhance integrated care and share expertise.
  • Assessing and coordinating the provision of necessary equipment for patient care.
  • Educating and supporting service users and their caregivers to promote independence and health safety.
  • Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all patients and their families.
  • Providing guidance and support to learners, including Nursing Associate trainees and first-year student nurses.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of all interventions in line with organizational policies.
  • Participating in training initiatives, which may include assisting in the delivery of educational sessions.
  • Taking ownership of your own professional development and competencies as outlined by relevant regulatory standards.
  • Supporting vaccination initiatives as required.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Higher Apprenticeship in Health level 5, Foundation Degree, or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
  • Current registration with the NMC.

Desirable:

  • Willingness to undertake relevant training for the role.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in a health or social care setting providing direct patient support.
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks within the Nursing Associate scope of practice competently.
  • Proficiency in fine motor skills for clinical procedures such as venepuncture.
  • Understanding of NMC standards and professional practice guidelines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
