Job Summary:

The SEND Support Specialist will join our welcoming and friendly SEND team to provide 1-1 support to identified students, monitoring their progress, advising, supporting, and working closely with parents/carers, teaching staff, external professionals, and completing annual reviews. The successful candidate will support the SENDCo in producing and reviewing pupil profiles and maintaining regularly updated intervention records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-1 support to identified students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Monitor student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and developing strategies to address any challenges.
  • Work closely with parents/carers, teaching staff, and external professionals to ensure a comprehensive support network for students.
  • Support the SENDCo in producing and reviewing pupil profiles, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Maintain regularly updated intervention records, tracking student progress and identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and training in SEND support or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with SEND, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a thorough understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
