Job Purpose:

About the Role:

Aberdeen City Council is seeking a qualified and experienced educator to join our team as a Casual Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to assigned pupils and contributing to the professional, corporate life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality education to assigned pupils, meeting the needs of diverse learners.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum, ensuring it is relevant and engaging for pupils.
  • Manage and organize classes, planning and preparing for teaching and learning activities.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, informing teaching and learning approaches.
  • Prepare pupils for examinations and qualifications, and assist with their administration as required.
  • Contribute to good order and the wider needs of the school, maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in school and council planning and improvement processes, contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge and skills, contributing to the professional development of colleagues, including probationary and student teachers.
