Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Paediatric Surgery Clinical Fellow to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out all duties of a Paediatric Surgery Specialist Registrar, participating in a 1 in 8 compliant on-call rota and supporting the provision of the outreach service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Participate in a 1 in 8 compliant on-call rota and support the provision of the outreach service.
  • Carry out all duties of a Paediatric Surgery Specialist Registrar, including participating in academic meetings and supporting the provision of the outreach service.
  • Develop and maintain skills in paediatric surgery, including basic surgical training and research techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team and other multidisciplinary teams to achieve departmental goals.
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Comply with the Trust's Health and Safety Regulations and Equal Opportunities policy.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following essential criteria:

  • Full registration with the GMC.
  • MRCS or equivalent.
  • APLS/PALS/EPLS/NLS1.

Desirable criteria include:

  • Teaching qualification.
  • At least 1-2 years experience in paediatric surgery.
  • Team working experience.
Skills and Knowledge

The successful candidate will possess the following essential skills and knowledge:

  • Basic paediatric surgical skills.
  • Basic surgical training.

Desirable skills and knowledge include:

  • Central Venous Cannulation.
  • Enthusiasm to teach skills to others.
  • Basic research techniques.
