Fresh Direct in Dagenham is seeking a Transport Team Leader with experience from within a busy operational transport environment. You will oversee and support the Distribution Manager in the day-to-day running of our Transport Department.
As Transport Team Leader, you will provide effective and efficient daily admin support to the drivers and Transport Management team to deliver into our customers across London. The main role would be reporting to the Distribution Manager, you'll be managing drivers' rota in terms of route planning and covering drivers' holiday, keeping accurate agency control and legal/process checks to ensure legality. We will look for you to deploy vehicles and drivers in order to best meet the needs of the business and its customers. It's vital that daily transport paperwork is completed in-line with company policy and procedures correctly and error-free.
As Transport Team Leader, you will be confident in completing general administration duties in a fast-paced, time-pressured environment. You will have strong attention to detail for control of Tachographs and systems and accurate maintenance of Titan and Prophet systems. As Team Leader for our Transport Department, you will be required to work both on the computer, in person, and over the telephone all in-line with Transport legislation, company policy, and procedures. You'll have a trustworthy nature and affinity to build a close relationship with other departments within the site and customers - working with Customer Services team to manage and resolve shortage recoveries as required and to advise any issues arising from deliveries as reported by drivers.
