Role Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Social Worker to support the delivery of effective outcomes for children and young people. The primary focus for the post holder will be Youth Justice practice, with opportunities for learning and development within the wider Transitions Service, including work with young people receiving Throughcare and Aftercare support and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children.
About the Role
As a Social Worker with Scottish Borders Council, you will be part of a supportive team environment that values continuous professional development. We offer flexible working, regular supervision, and annual appraisal, as well as opportunities for training and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and support the strengths of children and young people to achieve better outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to deliver effective Youth Justice practice.
- Develop and maintain relationships with young people, families, and communities to promote positive change.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that support the delivery of effective outcomes for children and young people.
Essential Requirements
- Appropriate social work qualification at degree or diploma level (DipSW).
- Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- Driving Licence.
