Role Purpose
An exciting opportunity to work with an established children and families statutory social work team in the Scottish Borders, based in our Galashiels office. We are a supportive and approachable team, committed to the learning and development of social workers while meeting the needs of the families we work with. We have full and part time opportunities available.
Essential
Professional social work qualification recognised by the SSSC, e.g. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW.
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.
Up-to-date understanding of the key issues and relevant theoretical background facing professional children and families social workers, particularly relating to child protection and looked after children.
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle with business insurance is an essential requirement of this post.
*If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driver's licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
