We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Corporate team in the UK or Ireland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting large cross-class renewal accounts and providing technical support to our regional underwriting teams.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in key case underwriting and new business development
- Mentor and coach development underwriting staff to ensure underwriting standards and profitability objectives are achieved
- Develop and leverage broker/client relationships through a high level of visibility
- Act as large case expert both internally and externally
- Assist the Director Corporate in determining sector strategy
- Encourage others to help achieve underwriting, sales, and production goals and understand and work towards strategic objectives
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues in Head Office, Risk Control, Claims, Actuarial, and as needed, any other parts of the organisation
- Advanced knowledge and ability required in respect of analytical thinking, judgment, decision making, communication and strong team work
- Demonstrates proven ability in respect of broker planning and engagement activities
- Demonstrates advanced ability in the areas of customer focus and positive broker interaction
- Demonstrates intermediate knowledge and ability in respect of Microsoft Office systems including Excel and Powerpoint
- Typically demonstrates advanced relationship management skills
- Private Medical Insurance: On commencement of employment, you are eligible for single cover provided by Travelers, with the option to add cover for your dependents, at your expense through payroll deduction
- Retirement: Travelers will make a core contribution of a percentage of salary to your Pension Plan. Additionally, if you decide to contribute to the plan, you will receive an increased company contribution
- Holiday Entitlement: Start your career at Travelers with a minimum of 25 days holiday entitlement annually, plus the opportunity to purchase additional days to allow for up to a total of 35 holidays per year
