About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Shift Manager to join our team at Buy It Direct, a leading company in the recycling industry. As a Production Shift Manager, you will be responsible for managing our production shift at our state-of-the-art facility in Elland, ensuring optimal capacity and capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Open and close the site, conducting daily inspections to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Arrange, produce, and document shift patterns, ensuring seamless communication with the team.
  • Plan and communicate work plans effectively, driving productivity and meeting cost and quality KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with company regulations, including working hours, health and safety, and site permitting.
  • Manage and flex labor resources as needed, maintaining high standards of warehouse discipline and cleanliness.
  • Provide training, coaching, and support to the team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Performance manage staff, providing motivational leadership and handling disciplinary matters.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures, safe systems of work, and other health and safety requirements.
  • Assist with general maintenance of the site and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Manage the offloading and loading of vehicles according to the traffic management plan.
  • Prepare the site for the receipt of existing, new, and projected volumes of material, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Ensure permit requirements are met, maintaining a compliant and efficient working environment.
About You

We are looking for a strong leader with good interpersonal and people management skills, experience managing a team, ideally within the waste recycling industry. You should have good problem-solving abilities and adaptability, with a WAMITAB COTC Level 4 in hazardous waste treatment/transfer being an advantage but not essential.
