Design Engineering Manager Job Description
**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly experienced Design Engineering Manager to join our team at Premier Technical Recruitment Ltd. As a Design Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of a small team of Mechanical Design Engineers and NPD individuals, ensuring the highest levels of quality customer service and satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Manage the day-to-day activities of the Design Engineering department, including the issuance of manufacturing drawings and the management of the Engineering Design Team.
* Undertake other drawings as required and create associated Bills of material, and check calculations in drawings and use Inventor to provide input in designs where required.
* Ensure documentation, including manuals, is in place and up to date at all times.
* Responsible for ensuring consistent Cost effective designs and their issue in a timely manner and their compliance with all relevant quality performance requirements.
**Requirements**
* HND or above qualified in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
* At least 5 years previous design team leader experience, ideally gained in an MHE or manufacturing environment.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to effectively organise and manage the diverse engineering team, whilst acting in the best interests of the business at all times and prioritising in an often pressurised environment.
