Job Summary:
The Shipping Manager will be responsible for overseeing the shipping strategy and daily operations of our company. This role requires a strong understanding of shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding procedures, as well as excellent commercial acumen and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement shipping strategies to maintain competitiveness and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Review pricing strategies and conduct profit margin analysis to optimize revenue.
- Participate in day-to-day operations for shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding requirements.
- Ensure controls are in place to minimize risk and errors, and implement procedures to improve efficiency.
- Support business development and marketing initiatives for freight forwarding, shipping, and import/export services.
- Assist in cross-functional process analysis and development of effective policies and procedures.
- Analyze and interpret external and internal data to inform business decisions and write reports.
- Contribute to the development of software systems to improve business efficiency and customer experience.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve department performance and support business goals.
Requirements:
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding procedures.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Manager or similar role.
- Solid knowledge of shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding procedures.
- Experience with preparing financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
- Strong Excel skills.
