Warehouse Chargehand Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Chargehand to lead our team of warehouse operatives at our Newton Abbot Distribution Centre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage and lead the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring daily picks are actioned in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the picking and loading of goods for next day deliveries, maintaining high standards of efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct daily stock replenishment and ensure good stock rotation at all times.
  • Perform periodic stock taking and cyclical counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained throughout the warehouse.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working within a warehouse environment, with a strong understanding of inventory management and control.
  • Possession of a forklift licence, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and other tasks associated with the role.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
