Our experts evaluate the profitability and risks associated with every facet of the firm's operations. Additionally, Controllers guarantee that the firm's activities comply with the regulations governing financial market transactions.

We are a specialized team responsible for managing the firm's liquidity, capital, and risk, while providing comprehensive financial control and reporting functions. Whether it involves assessing the creditworthiness of counterparties, monitoring market risks linked to trading activities, or offering analytical and regulatory compliance support, our contributions are vital to the firm's success. This environment is well-suited for collaborative individuals who possess strong ethics and meticulous attention to detail.

The core team for Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) is a small, centralized group tasked with establishing the strategy, planning, and coordinating the firm's global and local RRP deliverables. This team also oversees the assurance framework across our RRP capabilities and serves as the primary contact for regulatory inquiries related to RRP on a global scale.

YOUR IMPACT

We are in search of a Vice President Project Manager to oversee a range of deliverables for the RRP team. This position will be based in London and will encompass various aspects of RRP from a global, UK, and European viewpoint. The role necessitates effective program delivery methods, functional and technical expertise, and experience in stakeholder management to enhance and manage RRP capabilities. The ideal candidate will lead workstreams and contribute to the execution of multi-year strategic initiatives for the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft sections of the firm's recovery and resolution plans along with other regulatory deliverables.
  • Oversee the project management of the firm's Trading Book Wind Down program through its implementation and delivery phases.
  • Act as a liaison for external regulators and the firm's Senior Management regarding RRP matters.
  • Manage assurance activities such as capability testing and simulation exercises.
  • Participate in industry forums.
  • Collaborate with leadership and divisions to identify, define, and document project objectives and requirements.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in a critical area of regulatory focus and contribute to the development of the firm's strategies and approaches to resolvability as its business model evolves.

REQUIREMENTS

Complex program management:

  • Proven experience executing high-priority and complex projects across a large organization utilizing best-in-class project management skills.
  • Experience in launching and managing cross-functional projects, engaging at all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to collaborate with a federated team of over 100 individuals across multiple divisions to plan and execute RRP deliverables.
  • Capability to coordinate activities with multiple interdependencies across several internal teams, ensuring effective communication and information sharing.

Drive, motivation, and resilience:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, taking the initiative to enhance personal performance while collaborating with team members.
  • Creativity and innovation are essential, along with the capacity to critically evaluate current processes and propose enhancements.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are necessary to structure ambiguous challenges and take action to resolve them with limited information.

Working knowledge of financial services & experience of regulatory interaction:

  • The candidate should possess experience in external regulatory engagement and will oversee external deadlines and deliverables.
  • The candidate will be responsible for leading workstreams to deliver multi-year strategic initiatives internally and may occasionally serve as a point of contact for global and UK regulators.
  • Familiarity with RRP regimes is desirable but not mandatory.

Additionally, the successful candidate should demonstrate:

  • Communication: Experience in preparing reports, timelines, and materials for working groups and committees, with the ability to translate complex issues into key messages for cross-divisional teams and leadership.
  • Control mindset: The candidate should exhibit the ability to maintain and develop a robust control, governance, and assurance framework around the firm's global RRP deliverables.
  • Analytical skills: Attention to detail is crucial, along with the ability to prepare, review, and challenge financial projections and non-financial capabilities.
  • Writing skills: The ability to produce documentation that meets regulatory submission standards and to critically review and challenge materials prepared by other areas in a timely manner.
