Role Overview:
We are seeking a Credit Control Team Leader to enhance our sales ledger operations, ensuring adherence to company policies while maximizing sales and minimizing outstanding debts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement credit management policies to achieve cash flow and debtor objectives.
2. Proactively follow up on overdue accounts through various communication methods.
3. Monitor payment trends and recommend strategies to mitigate risks and reduce outstanding debts.
4. Address and resolve invoice disputes, negotiating payment terms effectively.
5. Maintain accurate records of sales ledger accounts.
6. Collaborate with customers to resolve issues holistically.
7. Assess new customer credit applications using credit reference data.
8. Process payments and ensure proper allocation to accounts.
9. Generate and analyze credit reports, taking necessary actions based on findings.
10. Work closely with finance and sales teams to manage customer accounts within established credit guidelines.
11. Supervise a skilled team of credit controllers.
12. Oversee the transition and implementation of a new financial system, ensuring it meets the needs of the credit control department and conducting user acceptance testing.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for individuals with:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in credit control, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- A proactive approach to managing the credit control function and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on problem-solving.
- A solid understanding of customer financial statements and the ability to utilize credit information effectively.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage challenging customer interactions.
- A customer-centric mindset, both internally and externally.
- The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- A positive attitude and initiative to drive results.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Experience in managing and mentoring team members to enhance performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
