Job Description
We're seeking a talented individual to join our Monitoring Trustee team in London. As a member of our global Monitoring Trustee practice, you'll manage complex compliance projects, acting as the eyes and ears of the competition authorities.
You'll take ownership of overseeing the implementation of structural and/or behavioural remedies by large multinational companies. You'll manage multidisciplinary teams and be responsible for drafting regular reports to the competition authorities.
You'll work on high-profile cases involving global and listed companies, reporting to competition authorities worldwide, including the European Commission, the UK Competition and Markets Authority, the Federal Trade Commission in the US, and the State Administration for Market Regulation in China.
Your project portfolio will include Big Tech regulation and various sectors, such as financial services, aviation, consumer goods, and utilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing compliance projects concerning the implementation of remedies offered by parties in merger, antitrust, state aid proceedings.
- Scrutinizing the implementation of structural and/or behavioural remedies by parties in divestiture processes, viability of divestment businesses, hold-separate/ring-fencing conduct, access, pricing provisions, including FRAND remedies.
- Drafting periodic progress reports to the competition authorities, liaising with parties and their advisors, identifying and collecting information required for monitoring, scrutinizing submissions, promptly identifying compliance risks, and escalating matters internally and externally.
- Contributing to the growth and global success of the practice by adhering to quality standards, identifying business development opportunities, participating in networking events, and contributing to engagements with potential clients.
Qualifications
We welcome applications from candidates with various backgrounds, including:
- Previous experience of Monitoring Trustee assignments.
- Case/project leads working at competition authorities or competition sector regulators.
- Compliance leads, consultants, auditors, transaction or corporate finance specialists.
- Technology experts with an expertise in digital markets.
- In-house staff responsible for the implementation of compliance/ remedy programmes and/or monitoring of compliance with competition law.
We're looking for a motivated, organized individual with strong analytical skills, a critical eye, and excellent report writing capabilities. The candidate should be willing to take on high levels of responsibility and be a team player that can build and develop relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
