About the role

This is a senior leadership position within SAUL Trustee Company, responsible for contributing to the strategy, governance, and management of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Member Administration, Data Reconciliations, and Payroll teams.

Key responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan.
  2. Monitor compliance with relevant regulations and report back to the Executive Management Team.
  3. Ensure the effective operation of the Universal Pensions Management (UPM) system.
  4. Lead, coach, and develop staff and managers in your teams to realize their potential.
  5. Monitor and address complaints, feedback, and compliments to improve services.
  6. Deliver high-quality services in a timely and appropriate manner.
  7. Identify and mitigate risks.
  8. Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension administration calculations, processes, and systems.
  9. Manage departmental budgets effectively.
  10. Have at least three years of experience in leading and managing pensions administration delivery teams.
  11. Hold industry qualifications, such as the Associate of the Pensions Management Institute (APMI) or equivalent.
  12. Have a detailed understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and the implications of non-compliance.
  13. Be able to support and develop other members of staff and line managers.
  14. Have strong leadership and management skills, with a focus on people and values.
  15. Have excellent planning and organizing skills.

About us

SAUL Trustee Company is a great place to work, whether you're a pensions specialist, an HR professional, or an IT whizz. We're the Trustee and administrator of a multi-employer hybrid pension scheme and a Master Trust, looking after the pensions of more than 80,000 members. We're a friendly team of around 60 people who work part of the week from home and at least two days each week in our central London office.

We're responsible for collecting the money members and employers pay into SAUL, managing where that money is invested, and making sure we pay the right pension to the right person at the right time.
