About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. As a key member of the team, you will provide expert advice and support to patients with breast malignancies and their families, guiding them through all stages of treatment and follow-up care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate and work in partnership with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless pathway of care for patients from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up care.
  • Manage your own caseload and work with colleagues to provide the highest possible standards of care for patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
  • Support and coordinate patients', families', and carers' needs from diagnosis onwards through all stages of their disease and treatment modalities.
  • Act as the point of contact and offer to be the Breast keyworker for patients and their families and carers.
  • Ensure the Macmillan Holistic Needs Assessments and Care Plans are completed for all patients at key points of their cancer treatment pathway.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • First-level RGN registration
  • Teaching qualification or extensive experience
  • Education to degree level or currently pursuing a degree
  • Relevant post-registration qualification in Breast care, oncology, or palliative care
  • Evidence of recent professional development
  • Experience in oncology at Band 6 level or above
