Mainframe Application Developer

Job Summary: Empiric is seeking an experienced Mainframe Application Developer to join our team and contribute to the development, modification, and maintenance of our Mainframe applications.

About the Role: As a Mainframe Application Developer, you will be responsible for creating, reading, and protecting data, as well as solving complex problems and identifying potential future issues. You will work closely with our team to design, develop, and implement new features and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Mainframe applications using Natural programming and ADABAS database systems.
  • Analyze performance issues and provide technical consultation and inquiries to other IT technical teams.
  • Optimize and tune existing ADABAS databases to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization of Natural/Adabas applications.
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of management.
  • Intellectual curiosity to continually challenge existing processes and explore new solutions to meet evolving business challenges.

Requirements:

  • Strong programming skills in NATURAL/ADABAS/SUPRA/MANTIS/COBOL/DB2/JCL.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-pressure environment against multiple deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and a strong sense of initiative.
