Macro Research Team

The Macro Research team at Goldman Sachs focuses on the intersection between economics and financial markets, covering a wide range of assets including equities, fixed income/credit, currencies, and commodities.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled analyst to join our Europe Economics team in London. As a member of our team, you will work closely with our chief Europe economist and other economists to:

  • Analyze and interpret high-frequency economic data releases
  • Develop and maintain our team's forecasting models and other proprietary economic indicators
  • Contribute to economic research projects and publications
  • Publish occasional research pieces
  • Collaborate with colleagues in sales and trading, investment banking, and external clients to answer questions and explain our team's views

Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong interest in macroeconomics
  • A Master's degree in Economics or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of statistical analysis, ideally with coursework in econometrics
  • Strong computer programming skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team setting
  • Relevant work experience is advantageous

Language

This role requires proficiency in English, the primary language used in our global operations.
