Job Title: Senior Process Design Engineer

CV-Library is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Design Engineer to join our team in Worthing, West Sussex. As a key member of our Design Team, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and delivering the process design of water and wastewater treatment projects for various clients.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the process design, development, and implementation of water and wastewater treatment projects.
  2. Develop process flow diagrams, mass balances, and process unit sizing to optimize treatment plant performance.
  3. Develop P&IDs, process control philosophies, hydraulics calculations (gravity & pumped) to feed into design specifications and HAZOP studies.
  4. Represent the design team in HAZOP studies and design reviews with both internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Provide technical support and expertise to project teams, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and quality standards.
  6. Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical training and knowledge sharing.
  7. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
  8. Liaise with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
  9. Stay updated on the latest developments in water treatment technologies and industry best practices.
  10. Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for innovation and sustainability in the water sector.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in process engineering, with at least 5 years in the water or wastewater industry.
  2. Proven track record of managing complex projects in water treatment, including design, testing, and commissioning.
  3. Strong knowledge of water quality standards, environmental regulations, and industry codes.
Essential Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  2. In-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, technologies, and equipment.
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Master's degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  3. Familiarity with sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency, and circular economy concepts in water management.
