Opto-Mechanical Engineer - Space Imaging

Are you a seasoned and innovative engineer with expertise in opto-mechanical systems? Do you want to work on cutting-edge projects in space, aerospace, defense, and industrial markets?

We are seeking an experienced Opto-Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As an Opto-Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components to support opto-mechanical system assembly and verification. You will also provide hands-on support during opto-mechanical system integration and testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical components to support opto-mechanical system assembly and verification.
  • Provide hands-on support during opto-mechanical system integration and testing.
  • Work on precision mechanical mounting of optics for structural, dynamic, and thermal environments.
  • Review and oversee opto-mechanical designs, particularly sub-contractor design progression through gate reviews.
  • Work with CAD packages and design and analysis experience applicable to opto-mechanics.
  • Knowledge of requirements management, including compliance verification matrix, DFMEA, and risk register.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of precision mechanical mounting of optics for structural, dynamic, and thermal environments.
  • Ability and experience reviewing opto-mechanical designs, particularly overseeing sub-contractor design progression through gate reviews.
  • Working knowledge of CAD packages.
  • Design and analysis experience applicable to opto-mechanics.
  • Knowledge of requirements management – compliance verification matrix, DFMEA, risk register.
