Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support our product development and validation efforts at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment, conducting routine experiments, and assisting the laboratory team with equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Laboratory Safety and Efficiency
    • Maintain the laboratory to a high level of safety, efficiency, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
    • Ensure the laboratory is adequately stocked with regularly used consumables.
  • Support Product Development and Validation
    • Conduct routine experiments to support product development and/or validation, producing reports to support design control processes.
  • Assist with Equipment Maintenance
    • Assist the laboratory team with equipment maintenance, such as HPLCs.
  • Continuously Improve Laboratory Processes
    • Ensure the laboratory continuously improves its processes using PPI and JDIs.
    • Assist with regular audits of the laboratory space to ensure standards are met.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent related degree.
    • Willingness to work alongside education if pursuing a scientific related degree.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Desire to learn and develop laboratory skills and experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and suggest improvements to processes.
    • Driven and capable of working independently as part of a cross-functional laboratory team.
    • Attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed correctly.
